Stay In The Woods
Each Great Adventure starts with a single step.
Our vision at Stay In The Woods is that great memories are often created in places far removed from the hustle and bustle of busy streets and crowded cities. Birds singing in the morning, a campfire under a starry night sky, and the quiet of walking through pristine forests are all examples of the timeless beauty these landscapes continue to hold, inspiring millions of people around the world.
Stay In The Woods was developed to honor these experiences. We are aiming to make people more aware of the outdoors, getting to know it responsibly and enjoying all the adventures it has to offer.
From the first time you’re camping to the time you’re heading out on a week-long hike, you’re looking for survival skills, or even just some fun inspiration to take your next weekend getaway, we want to make it memorable, informative, and practical.
Our Story
Stay In The Woods started with the desire to share our love for the outdoors and nature. Our team has been climbing, camping, hiking in national parks, and working in forests for a number of years, and before this website came to be, we had a great deal of fun.
It was these adventures that it was clear to us that there was a need for more time to be spent outside, but not everyone had access to reliable and understandable information. Some guides were very technical and some were not very useful for the newbie.
We felt there should be a single place where there could be reliable, inspirational, and easily accessible information for those who love the outdoors, seasoned adventurers and first timers alike!
That’s what became of that vision—Stay In The Woods.
From just a handful of outdoor articles, it slowly expanded into a larger resource of camping, hiking, travel, wilderness skills, outdoor gear and nature inspired living.
All articles printed are an expression of our respect for nature and our want to assist visitors to enjoy it safely and responsibly.
Inspired by Nature
Of all the things that nature has taught us, one thing is constant: it’s always been a great teacher.
Teaches patience while waiting for the perfect sunrise.
It helps you to be resilient in difficult hikes.
It teaches preparation for each and every adventure.
Most of all, it is a reminder to take time to enjoy the simple moments that are often overlooked in today’s fast-paced world.
Our values inform all our publishing practices.
We don’t just tell readers where to go or what to bring, we teach them how to do it, how to stay safe, how to respect wildlife and how to appreciate all outdoor journeys.
